Getting started
How to view your zoetrope
To see the animation, you need a frame rate. There are two simple ways to achieve this.
Film with your phone
Speed
Play the record or slipmat at the speed specified for your design, indicated on the packaging.
Frame rate
Set your phone to record at 30FPS. Most phones do this by default.
Shutter speed and light
If the design looks blurry, your shutter speed is too slow. Film in bright conditions. Daylight is best, and your phone will automatically adjust. More light means a sharper image.
Recommended free apps

Within the app, set shutter speed to around 1000 and adjust brightness accordingly.
Use a strobe light
Speed
Play the record or slipmat at the speed specified for your design, indicated on the packaging.
Strobe light
Set your strobe light or strobe app to 30Hz and shine it at the spinning record. Close curtains and turn off other lights for best results.

Pro tip: Daylight is your best friend. The brighter the environment, the sharper the animation will look.
